We are excited to be involved in a bunch of great dental conferences this summer! We start out in Florida next week in Patti DiGangi and Judy Bendit’s Hygiene Mastery program and then go to the Pacific NW meeting in Seattle then ADHA in LasVegas and then UOR back in Florida in August! These dental conventions are always such a great opportunity for the office staff to get caught up on all the new products and of course their CE’s, but its especially nice for us when we can show hands on how the Dental R.A.T. actually works! It helps so much when the hygienists can actually touch and feel and see how easy it is to use! Once they see that its a foot operated mouse and has all the same capabilities the light comes on. So if you are at any of these definitely come say hi!!!! Dental R.A.T. will be sharing booth space with MirrorGear and BlueBoa- two more hygienists that have invented money saving, useful products that are made right here in the good ol USA!! We just got back from the Greater New York dental conference and I was reminded that I hadn’t updated my blog. It was a very busy meeting, they said there were 59,000 dentists there, plus staff, wow!! It was so nice to see so many software companies that have finally got perio charting in their practice management software suites. The major practice management software companies have had perio charting included but it had amazed me how many didn’t have any perio modules. Those that already have perio charting like Dentrix, EagleSoft, SoftDent, PracticeWorks, Panda Perio etc, the Dental R.A.T. just plugs in and runs. I was so excited that Easy Dental finally got their perio chart and the Dental R.A.T. runs it perfectly too. There are several that have or currently are upgrading their perio modules to run easier with the Dental R.A.T.; like XLDent, MacPractice and The Complete Exam. Its just so nice to have others concentrating on helping us hygienists perio chart easier! We aren’t left alone to fend for ourselves

I saw there is now even a perio probe that has a light so its easier for us to see the readings!! How nice! With all the advances in perio charting there is no excuse not doing it and it comes back to us in the long run because it all helps the patient understand their conditions and then they accept our proposed perio treatment.

Wow!  I can’t believe Christmas is here!  It finally snowed and now I’m in the mood for Christmas!  Especially after seeing NY all decorated up, it is so pretty this time of year!  We didn’t have a booth at the Greater NY Dental meeting but I was able to go and train the Patterson Reps and they were selling Dental R.A.T.’s there!  The Patterson Reps are catching on fast!  We’ve been traveling (Rob mostly) to as many Patterson branches as we can get to for demos.   They are a great company, I’m so happy that they are helping us get the word out there!

I also had a great trip to Portland to meet with First Pacific group in Salem.  They were such a great group of people and the more I use the First Pacific software (The Complete Exam) the more I like it!!  Another one I need to add to our list, I’m working on another video.

We also got picked in a survey in Dental Products Report as one of the “Top 10 of 2008″!!   Wow!!  They picked us as one of the top perio products, what a nice surprise!!

I feel so blessed to have so many great people recommending our product!

So we just got back from San Antonio, TX!  The ADA was huge and people were still shopping and buying!  It was so nice to see that things aren’t as bad as the TV says!  I won’t even get on that soapbox:).  But, I did learn about “The Economic Stimulus Act of 2008″ giving doctors a huge reason to buy more equipment!  A lot of people were talking about taking advantage of it this year so I thought I’d share it.

This is a big change in the tax law.  I am not a CPA so I will give you a link to one from Dental Economics.  Its section 179 and it basically doubles the equipment writeoffs plus a bonus depreciation is available for newly acquired dental equipment.  Here is the article in Dental Economic magazines Sept issue, pg 60.  Section 179

So basically you can help the hygienists perio chart by themselves and get a great tax benefit!
